Bessemer's Washington School Project 2006

Master Gardener Gordon Frase  talks the 4th grade classes, at Washington Grade School in Bessemer, MI , about what plants need in order to grow. In other photos, Master Gardeners are helping students plant marigolds and petunia seeds.

The students will tend the plants in their class room till the end of May. Then master gardeners return to help the students plant the flowers outside. During the course of the summer, students, with the help of Range Master Gardeners water and deadhead the flowers.

During the summer months student volunteers return to the project to water plants and remove weeds.
