It
was Christmas in July when members of the Range Master Gardeners
headed west to Duluth Minnesota to participate in The 9th Annual Duluth Secret Garden
Tour, sponsored by the Duluth Garden Flower Society. More than 300 visitors climbed
aboard seven buses to visit the gardens of eight club members. The eight gardens
varied significantly in both scope and design. Next year members of the Range Master Gardeners hope to climb aboard the tour buses once
again
The first stop was at the home of Gerry and Nan Asperheim, members of the
several garden clubs. This home features many gardens in a majestic
setting under mature maple trees. The Asperheims consider themselves recyling
gardeners who, often using discarded items from someone else's garden to to
create a unique setting within theirs. The gardens include an impressivey
collection of shade-loving shrubs and perennials.

When is a window not a window? When it's a cleverly disguised faux window. Host gardeners created this faux window as a
backdrop to the window box.
Annuals in terra cotta containers and stylish wrought iron plant racks grace the color filled walkways.
